deadworld004Last week it was announced that ‘Deadworld’, the comic book series created by Stuart Kerr and Ralph Griffith, will be turned into a film. The series chronicles a band of survivors in a post-apocalyptic earth that has been overtaken by the undead. While two volumes spanning 26 issues were created between 1987 and 1992 originally by Arrow Comics for the first volume and Caliber Comics for the second, the series was resurrected back into print in 2005 by Image Comics.

The film will be produced by Dark Hero Studios partners David Hayter, Benedict Carver and Bill Mechanic with plans to eventually turn the film into a franchise. More details will arrive on this story as they develop. Sufficed to say that the project has been given the green light, however, a director to the film hasn’t been attached.
