Cold Souls Trailer Released

You ever see a trailer for a film and think to yourself, “Haven’t I seen this movie before?” Several months ago this feeling came to me as I was watching the trailer for the then-new Nicholas Cage movie, ‘Knowing’ which I realized was realized was really the film ‘Next’ (Click here to view). Nevertheless, the first time I saw this trailer I immediately thought Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind.

While some critics are calling this film a pastiche to Charlie Kaufman’s work I have another word for it: “Rip-off!” ‘Cold Souls’ stars Paul Giamatti and Emily Watson. Giamatti plays himself as a distressed actor trying to find himself but is so overwhelmed he decides to pay a company to remove his soul and have it cryogenically frozen. However, when he decides to re-integrate his soul back into his body it accidently gets shipped to St. Petersburg in a soul-smuggling operation.

Don’t even ask, I don’t it either, but here’s the trailer below for all those interested. Tell me your thoughts and feelings of the film. I’m sure they’ll be as pessimistic and drawn-out as my own.
