Just wanted to let my readers know that the new District 9 trailer has been released and it looks amazing. If you were as blown-away from the first trailer than you will be definitely be amazed at what this movie has in store. For those interested I encourage you to check the six-minute short film that the film is based on.

District 9 is a science fiction film to be released on August 14, 2009. The movie is being produced by Peter Jackson (of Lord of the Rings fame) and is directed by Neill Blomkamp, a Vancouver-based African-born director of short films and commercials. The movie is Blomkamp’s first foray into feature films.
The film is set in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is based on ‘Alive in Joburg’, a short film produced by Neill Blomkamp, Sharlto Copley, Simon Hansen, and Shanon Worley. The short film is about aliens landing in South Africa and becoming contained to a specific area and forced to work. In the movie these aliens are called “Non-Humans” and are overseen by Multi-National United (MNU), a company which is utilizing alien technology.
