The Fourth Kind comes from J. Allen Hynek’s classification of close encounters with alien, where the fourth kind denotes an alien abduction. The film is set to star Milla Jovovich and will be released November 6, 2009 by Universal Pictures.

The film is based on actual events, and is set in Nome, Alaska a town with a disproportionate number of reported alien abductions over the last forty years. Milla Jovovich plays the part of psychotherapist Dr. Abigail Tyler, who videotapes interviews with the abductees, and begins to suspect a government cover up.
