For me, Torchwood remains a series that falls under the category of SF Signal’s “How Will You Get Your Scifi Fix Over the Summer?” (Click Here to View) alongside the plethora of science fiction shows and movies I still have yet to catch up on. Nevertheless, for the fans of the popular British science fiction series the release of the third season trailer titled “Children of Earth” is a fresh pick-me-up.

The serial is about a government who struck a deal in the 1960s with an alien race and the consequences of it – something that will affect all the children on Earth^. It features CGI aliens called The 456 who are introduced in the third episode. The story further establishes the relationship between Jack and Ianto and how Gwen and Rhys cope with married life around Torchwood “as [Rhys] potentially becomes the fourth member of the team.”

The five-part series will be broadcast over a five-day period over one week on BBC One in the U.K. and the Sci Fi Channel in either June or July 2009.
